Poetic Underground

Poetry Open Mic every 2nd-last Wednesday of the month at THE BRICK (1727 McGee St. in the Crossroads Arts District in KCMO) from 9pm-11pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT & FAQ:

When can I sign up? Sign up list drops at 9pm. Show starts at 9:30.

Is there a cover? There is no cover at the door on open mic nights.

How many poems can I read? You are allotted 5 MINUTES on stage. That usually equates to one poem.

Can I read early? We read names in random order. If you would like to go early, put a star next to your name on the sign-up sheet and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can I sign up early? No. You cannot sign up ahead of time via email of Facebook message.

Transportation options to The Brick:

- Carpool / Drive / Uber / Lyft / Bird / Lime Scooter to 1727 McGee

- The KC Streetcar stops at both 19th (The Crossroads stop) or 16th (The Kauffman Center stop) and folks can walk three blocks East to The Brick. 
- For folks riding the bus to get to the former Uptown Arts Bar, the MMAX leaves from Main & Armour @ 8:17 p.m. on Wednesdays and arrives at Grand/17th at 8:26 p.m., which is basically The Brick’s front door.
